Instructors

Instructors

Use this page to manage instructor records. You can create one record, import a larger list, or open each instructor's detailed profile from here.

What this screen helps you do

  • create instructor records manually
  • import instructor lists from a file
  • search and review basic instructor information
  • open the instructor profile screen for semester-specific teaching context

What you see in the list

  • search
  • Reload
  • Import
  • Create
  • a paginated instructor table
  • basic fields such as name, date of birth, and status
  • masked email, phone, and address
  • actions such as Profile and Edit

The masked presentation of sensitive fields is intentional. It reduces accidental exposure when most people only need to identify the instructor, not inspect private details.

When should you use Import?

Use it when:

  • setting up the module for the first time
  • receiving a prepared instructor list from academic affairs
  • updating a larger batch instead of editing one by one

After importing, check a few rows immediately to confirm that names, statuses, and contact columns landed correctly.

What the create or edit form contains

Typical fields include:

  • name
  • original_id
  • dob
  • status
  • phone
  • email
  • address

Some sensitive fields may be locked or unavailable if your account does not have permission to edit them.

What the instructor profile screen is for

From the list, you can open a dedicated profile route. That screen is better suited when you need to answer questions such as:

  • what is this instructor teaching in the selected semester
  • how many classes or subjects are assigned
  • what evaluation context exists for this instructor

If you need teaching context, use the profile screen instead of staying only in the list.

  1. Import the base list if data does not exist yet.
  2. Search and spot-check important instructors.
  3. Edit incomplete records.
  4. Open Profile when you need semester-based teaching insight.

Common misunderstandings

  • masked fields do not mean data is missing
  • the list is not the best place to judge teaching load
  • changing an instructor status may affect class or subject assignment later

The next screens most teams use after instructors are Subjects and Classes.
